Administrative Coordinator - University of Nebraska at Omaha - Omaha, NE

The Administrative Coordinator will be assisting the Director Center for Afghanistan Studies in managing partnerships between UNO and Afghan Universities by overseeing administrative duties, technical support, and record-keeping services related to the projects/ activities, as well as faculty support services to the UNO faculty members involved in CAS partnerships.

This position covers the two-year period of performance of the university partnership program.


Work Schedule

M-F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, 2 years engagement


Additional Duties

Oversee all administrative affairs of the partnerships with Afghan universities


Assist Director CAS in managing UNO -Afghan University partnership


Coordinate and lead logistical arrangements necessary for the U.S. and Afghan faculty exchange visits.


Keep records of all administrative affairs and provide periodic reports to CAS Director.


Provide support to other CAS personnel and UNO faculty involved in the project/partnership.


Maintain and update project related activities in CAS website.


Assist CAS Director in overseeing third-country training activities for CAS university partnerships.


Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in an International Studies related field


Required Experience: Four years general office/administrative experience


An equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a program or project coordinator. International travel and living experience.


Knowledge of Afghan culture and languages is preferable.


Must have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Knowledge of university and college policies, administrative procedures and systems. Must be detail oriented. Ability to prioritize and solve issues related to a number of different tasks and projects. Must be able to interact with wide variety of individuals, students, U.S. and Afghan faculty.

Salary

$16.826 per hour
