Billeting Clerk (AFGHANISTAN) - JCI - San Diego, CA






***DUTY LOCATION IS AFGHANISTAN***


JOB DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Billeting Office Manager (BOM), the BC will be responsible for operating the front desk or reception desk for billeting check-in or check-out procedures. The BC will also assist Billeting Operatives and Maintenance Technicians in the performance of their duties.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES:


  • Operate Main Billeting Office and/or Transit Billeting Office to act as front office/reception desk for all billeting activities

  • Conduct check- in and check-out processes as per applicable regulations to include checking the rooms for cleanliness and damage of the property the day before departure and coordinate with national Support Element for any issues for corrective actions

  • Provide key control for all billeting facilities/rooms

  • Operate a billeting system/database with the ability to control available accommodation rooms and occupancy levels

  • Assist the BOM in providing daily, weekly and monthly reports, including but not limited to, total bed capacity, total occupancy levels, available room quantities and occupancy by nations/agencies/companies, etc

  • Establish and provide VIP/VVIP accommodations as per applicable regulations, to include preparation (including making up the bed) and cleaning of the rooms in readiness for immediate occupancy

  • Collect billing address from applicable civilian personnel for cost recovery purposes

  • Control access to facilities

  • Coordinate and report all maintenance and safety issues to relevant agencies,

  • Comply with the KAF fire prevention program/SOP

  • Conduct daily inspections of all common areas in both permanent and transit accommodation and report all deficiencies to the maintenance contractor and for safety issues to relevant agencies e.g. Fire department

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school graduate or higher

  • 2 years Guest Services Industry experience

  • Minimum level of English language skills required level of 3333 in accordance with STANAG 6001

  • SECRET Security Clearance

  • Microsoft Office suite of programs proficiency

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 5 Years front desk or customer relations experience

  • Experience deployed in support of US or NATO troops in either OIF or OEF

  • Microsoft Office suite of programs proficiency

  • The person who fills this post must be a mature and experienced person, who displays sound judgment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and unquestionable integrity. This person must be a highly motivated individual. This person must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team characterized by cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and professional diversity
