(AFG-KABUL) English Language Instructor
Job Summary
The English Language Instructor develops and provides English language training for local personnel at an assigned location.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Develop and establish English as a second language training and development curriculum.
- Conduct English as a Second Language training courses.
- Responsible for completing and maintaining all applicable forms, records and reports.
- Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance of associated work areas to include classrooms or any other areas used in the instructional process.
- Order through the appropriate functional manager all instructional materials and student materials.
- Assist in organizing the efforts of the department, helping other instructors when needed, follow-up and ensure accomplishment on all related issues for the English Department and work duties as assigned.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Fluent in the English language.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software.
- Ability to effectively interface with various levels of employees and management.
Experience & Education
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or in English preferred.
- Two (2) or more years’ experience as an English language instructor at a university level or language training institute.
- Experience in curriculum development and revision is desired.
- Possess a FSI Language Proficient Rating of a S5/R5 in English and host nation’s language.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
