(AFG) Irregular Warfare Analyst (MIK)


Requirement Overview: The Irregular Warfare Analyst (MIK) will train, advise and assist (TAA) with the production of all source intelligence research and intelligence assessments on active insurgencies in theater of operation. Assist Intelligence section with analysts/agencies in the planning, preparation, coordination, and dissemination phases of scheduled and unscheduled assessments including RFIs with short suspense’s and high-level attention. Monitor active insurgencies’ capabilities, funding, training, recruiting, safe-haven, Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTP), and operations within theater of operation and support efforts to counter insurgent efforts. Monitor and produce intelligence products on underlying conditions which may provide the catalysis for the development of insurgencies. Perform data input, link and nodal and geo-spatial analysis. Identify significant intelligence trends and proposing new or revised analytical efforts to alert leadership to developments and to meet customer needs. Identify intelligence gaps, specifying collection requirements, and submitting recommendations to collection managers and analysts. Work Hours: Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to twelve (12) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites. Minimum Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience · Minimum military rank attained should be Captain (03), CW3, or E-7 · Battalion level or above in military intelligence operations Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience : · Demonstrated knowledge of SIGINT, OSINT, and HUMINT · Experience with the intelligence cycle and collection fusion, analysis, production, and dissemination of products. · Experience with intelligence automated systems, especially imagery analysis, signals intelligence and exploitation tools and libraries. · Knowledge of intelligence oversight and security guidelines · Excellent written communication, all-source research, data evaluation and analytic skills. · Excellent oral communication skills for presenting, briefing, or communicating analytical research material. · Significant experience with Irregular Warfare problem sets. · Ability to deliver theater specific situational awareness in support of planning, synchronization, decision making and execution of client missions · Knowledge of state-of-the-art intelligence analysis tools such as Pathfinder, WEBTAS, Analytical Notebook, DCSG-A, GIS tools and M3 · Ability to manage, research and coordinate projects. · Detailed knowledge of NGIC, Army, and other IC programs and products · Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance · Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience: · Military experience, strategic/tactical intelligence analysis with emphasis on experience as a deployed intelligence analyst supporting counter-insurgency operations; INSCOM experience or experience in an ACE supporting all-source analysis is a plus. · Specialized training on intelligence collection and analysis with supporting school diplomas or certification · Active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance Physical Requirements/Working Environment: · Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain. · Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas. Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location. Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards. Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day. Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs. Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders. Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions. Employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment. · The individual may be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region. 80469
