(AFG-KABUL) QC Inspector
Job Summary
The *Quality Control Inspector *performs initial, in progress, and final inspections of all maintenance actions. Responsible for monitoring of Quality Control processes, procedures, and inspections. Provides training mentorship to Host Country Nationals (HCN) of the quality assurance personnel in accomplishment of duties outlined in the approved Afghanistan Air Force (AAF) quality control plan. The Quality Control Inspector assists the Quality Control Lead with ensuring the compliance of United States Government (USG) and Department of Defense (DOD) directives and approved processes for aircraft maintenance and historical records keeping. This position requires full knowledge of FAA standards and practices.
Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for maintenance actions that involve flight safety.
- Responsible for FAA regulatory inspections and maintenance operation verifications.
- Responsible for interpreting all drawings, technical manuals, and directives.
- Ability to write with clear, concise, and technical accuracy.
- Observant alert, and hold an inquiring nature.
- Ability to work closely with others and assist maintenance personnel in interpretation and implementation of modification/maintenance instructions.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Complete familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used in area of responsibility.
- Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of general inspection procedures, maintenance forms, records, reporting system and management thereof.
- Fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
- Mastery of Microsoft computer programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and AWBS 9.2.
- U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a National Agency Check Investigation (NAC-I).
- Must be able to write technical reports for official government and program managers.
Experience & Education
- Must Possess a Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Power Plant certificate.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced working knowledge of Mi-17or equivalent type mission design series helicopters.
- Previous RII or Control Point Inspection Authority and experience.
- Experience and knowledge of aircraft maintenance records and logbooks.
- Experience on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical directives.
- Military experience as a Technical Inspector preferred.
- ASNT level II license preferred.
- Federal Aviation Administration Inspection Authorization preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Living conditions may be cramped and substandard compared to western (US) standards.
- May be required to perform duties at remote and austere locations.
- Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures and environments while working in field conditions.
- Must be able to lift 90 pounds to waste level and 75 pounds to shoulder height.
- Must be able to travel and be in excellent physical condition.
Travel
- 10 – 15%
- Travel to austere or inhospitable high stress environments will be required.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
