(AFG-Jalalabad) Sr Professional: Technical Trainer - CFFT- Jalalabad, Afghanistan


Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT) Field Service Representative (FSR) will provide CFFT operator level training and cannon field artillery forward observer training on call for fire procedures. CFFT FSR will provide CFFT FSR maintenance support and repair services in support of Afghan National Army Training and Education Command (ANATEC) and the Regional Military Training Center (RMTC).


Essential Job Functions


  • Conducts training courses, both on-site and on-line, for the company’s applications and systems to include lectures and hands-on sessions between the hours of 8 am – 8 pm (0800-2000), Saturday through Thursday. This may fluctuate based on training requirements.

  • The key task to enable this effort is the development of ANDSF Call For Fire skills and leadership capability through focused Officer, Non- Commissioned Officer (NCO) and soldier courses that, to the maximum extent possible, utilize the “train-the-trainer” methodology to ensure that all future training is Afghan-led and Afghan-sustainable. Additional train-the-trainer courses will be developed dependent upon operational requirements and ANDSF capabilities.

  • Works with applicable business unit/area to establish specifications of course, prerequisite skills and knowledge for trainees. Ensures that training courses address all levels of employee. Assists in the design and development of technical training programs and curriculums, both on-site and on-line, for employees on various software and/or hardware applications and systems.

  • Researches and assists in writing technical and user manuals to support training. Works with engineering, technical support, and/or applicable area to ensure that material is accurate and reflects current product features.

  • Gathers, reviews and analyzes course evaluations to determine effectiveness of training sessions. Prepares recommendations and reports to senior level personnel and/or management. Implements approved revisions to course materials as necessary to improve training effectiveness.

  • Reviews, as requested, external training programs to determine feasibility of purchase as requested. Makes recommendations to management as appropriate.

  • Remains informed of and maintains proficiency with applicable company products.

  • Works with senior level personnel and business units/technical areas to conduct needs assessments to ensure training needs are met.

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, engineering or related field preferred

  • Four or more years of technical training experience

  • Experience working with company software, systems, applications and network products

  • Experience working with communications practices, principles and procedures for both on-site and on-line presentations

Other Qualifications


  • Two additional years of related training experience

  • At least one active duty deployment to Iraq/Afghanistan between 2001 and 2015.

  • Knowledge of EST 2000 required.

  • Subject matter expert in the operation and maintenance of a CFFT system.

  • Experience in one-on-one interaction with operators of the CFFT.

  • Knowledgeable in ordering and sustaining parts for the CFFT

  • Able to work in and respect an Afghanistan cultural environment and Muslim religion

  • Communication skills to write training manuals and procedures

  • Presentation skills to train and educate employees on technical material and applications

  • Interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of employees

  • Comprehension skills for understanding products and applying knowledge to presentation

  • Personal computer and business solutions software skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Organization and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality regarding employee information

  • Ability to understand and apply federal, state and local changes to and/or new regulations/laws pertaining to human resources

  • Willingness to travel

  • The CFFT Trainer shall have a minimum of four years of combined experience as a Forward Observer (Artillery Officer/Senior NCO 13F) at the platoon, company, and battalion fire support levels and trained as a CFFT operator in support of a cannon artillery battalion.

  • Additional experience as an observer/controller (O/C) at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) or the Joint Maneuver Readiness Center (JMRC), formerly known as the Combat Maneuver Training Center (CMTC) is a plus.

  • Previous platoon, battery, or battalion Fire Support Officer or NCO experience

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance

Work Environment:


The work to be performed under this contract will be performed at TB Gamberi, in TAAC-E Area of Responsibility in Afghanistan. Work locations will often be very remote and the working and living conditions will be very austere with government provided housing consisting of tents, containerized housing units with separately located shower and toilet facilities or dormitory type, hard-walled buildings. Additionally, work may be required to be performed in potentially hostile, combat environments with threats of attacks via rocket, mortar, or improvised explosive device (IED).
