(AFG-KABUL) Mentor Program Support Supervisor
Job Summary
The Mentor Program Support Supervisor will provide oversight, continuity and quality assurance to the Afghanistan National Army (ANA), or the Afghanistan National Police (ANP) training and mentoring programs. Also responsible for all assigned personnel, equipment, facilitates, and other resources within a designated area of operations. Participate in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and procedures.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Assist the Deputy Program Manager (DPM), Mentor Program Support Manager (MPSM), and Directors/Leads in meeting overall program objectives.
- Assist the DPM and MPSM in responding to and in implementing contractual, performance work statement (PWS), and contractual modifications.
- Support the DPM, MPSM, and Directors/Leads in meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics.
- Lead, plan, schedule, organize, support, execute, evaluate and continuously improve all ANA or ANP training and mentoring within the area of operation.
- Coordinate with program management, senior leadership, operations and training, logistics staffs, and other support personnel to ensure mission success.
- Coordinate assignments, relocations, leave requests, performance evaluations, and other staffing matters while ensuring necessary manning requirements are met.
- Coordinate mission and training requirements with external entities.
- Ensure professional behavior and appearance of all personnel, on and off duty, and conform to DynCorp International, LLC and Department of Defense (DoD) policies, procedures, and US Military general orders.
- Prepares program execution plans and identifies appropriate resources required to ensure mission success.
- Assist in compiling and completing contractually required contract deliverable required lists (CDRL) to include reports.
- Assist in the development of best practices as well as training and individual professional development to enhance the effectiveness of the ANA or ANP workforce.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of international police and/or military training missions
- Knowledge/familiarity of DoD and U.S. Government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) preferred.
- Possess strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Possess the ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently achieve the end state projection.
- Proven leadership experience, problem solving skills and organizational development.
- Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills: Ability to manage processes and procedures.
- Automated data processing knowledge: possess working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, graphics presentation, databases, E-mail clients & web browsers, and web content management.
Experience & Education
- Prior military or contractor experience with a headquarters’ staff and supervisory experience as well as some interagency exposure.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in ANA or ANP mission, or similar mission experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of combined supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required, however, degree requirement may be waiver with eight (8) years of combined supervisory experience.
- Must have an interim SECRET Level Security Department of Defense (DoD) Clearance before deployment and must maintain that clearance.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Must meet all physical, medical, dental, and other requirements for overseas deployment in accordance with current DoD regulations.
- Must possess a fitness level appropriate to performing work in a field environment.
- Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work is performed in a combat zone.
Travel
- Must be capable of daily travel in and around Kabul and to travel to locations throughout Afghanistan.
