(AFG-KANDAHAR) Tire Shop Mechanic
Job Summary
Perform vehicle tire services, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTV) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Principal Accountabilities
- Requires the exercise of reasonable judgment and initiative
- Provide a safe and reliable vehicle upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance
- Ensures all repairs and preventative maintenance are completed in a timely manner.
- Performs vehicle servicing and repairs to maintain company standards.
- Monitors equipment operation at job site and ensures that proper maintenance and safety procedures are followed.
- Orders and maintains an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure timely maintenance.
- Promotes safety, awareness and teamwork.
- Completes reports.
- Maintains tools and equipments and ensures a safe and clean work area.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Must possess the ability to safely operate vehicles and shop equipment.
- Requires specialized training in recovery operations and equipment repair or equivalent experience.
- Thorough knowledge of field services recovery equipment operation and maintenance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must maintain a safe driving record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Requires flexibility in working hours
Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years experience in field maintenance.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
- Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
