Job Description Supervises Logistics operations within assigned area of responsibility (AOR).Provides support in tracking supplies and materials, and coordination of transportation functions, maintenance, and client services at the project level. Leads teams of personnel which support the Logistics function assigned locations; performs the duties of subordinate personnel as required. Coordinates material requisitions. Order information, status and updates to functional and site management as required. Ensures records of Customer Orders. backorders, consignment inventory, import shipments and delivery details are maintained according to contractual obligations. Minimizes exposure to demurrage and detention of goods. Evaluates processes and procedures; develops and implements improvements to maximize efficiency and value to the customer.

Under limited supervision, develops planning for logistical operations and provides support in tracking supplies and materials, and coordination of transportation functions, maintenance, and client services. Leads a team of Logistics Coordinators and Logistics Specialists responsible for executing and monitoring logistics activities for various departments at the site or project level. Maintains accurate records of Customer Orders, backorders, consignment inventory, import shipments and delivery details. Minimizes exposure to demurrage and the detention of goods. Evaluates and makes recommendations to Logistics management on process improvements to maximize efficiency and value to the customer.

Supervises a team of subordinate employees, subcontractors, and/or labor broker personnel, in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum

This Job Description represents a summary of the generic job duties and qualifications for this position and shall not be construed as a complete listing of all tasks, as other duties may be assigned. Position may be located in a war zone in a contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health, and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand).

Living conditions on the project are most likely austere. The most austere sleeping may be in environmentally conditioned tents on “Army type” cots. Restrooms and showers may be 250 feet or further from sleeping quarters. Laundry service for 15 pounds twice per week is commonly provided. Meals are provided at regular intervals in cafeteria or “dining facility” style environment. Living area will most likely have constant hum of generators or similar equipment nearby.

Basic Job Requirements Associate’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, and 7 years directly related experience is required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.

Other Job Requirements Excellent communication and leadership skills required. Computer literacy and skills in MS Office Suite required. Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts, methods, standards and practices of shipping, receiving and distribution of goods in the industry.

Preferred Qualifications Prior Military and/or Contingency Operations experience preferred.
