Special Effects Technician (SFX) IIT Role Player - Katmai Government Services - Camp Lejeune, NC

Battlefield Effects Technician will be assigned to individual missions by the Role Player Manager and BFX Lead. The BFX Tech will provide safety checks on all equipment and pyrotechnics while ensuring safe placement and detonation of battlefield effects. BFX Tech must be familiar with all applicable directives to safely operate aboard the respective military installation. If required, must attend range control safety class. Maintain BFX binder with all pyrotechnics MSDS and PSDS information. BFX binder will be shared and approved by local safety representatives. Update requisite safety brief items as needed.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Role Player Manager and BFX Lead during mission planning process for type and numbers of BFX required.

As assigned, manage battlefield effects in assigned lane to ensure conditions are set to meet the unit training objectives.

Evaluate and document specific BFX performance to ensure proper training effects are achieved.

Maintain a parts list and BFX ordering information.

Enforce all corporate and government policies, directives, and standard operating procedures (SOP).

Implement and enforce all safety requirements and safety equipment prior to employment of BFX devices.

Utilize personal protective equipment to include hearing protection and safety glasses.

Report status of BFX devices to BFX Lead.

Additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Experience Requirements Experience transporting, constructing, and storing pyrotechnics aboard a military installation. Valid driver’s license with clean record within the past 2 years. Prior military infantry training experience executing company level training plans (preferred). Recent EOD military operational experience in Iraq or Afghanistan (preferred). Demonstrate ability to remain professional and cooperative during dynamic training evolutions.

Able to interact with different nationalities and cultures.

Other Qualifying Factors Must be able to gain access to US military installations. Must be able to pass an ATF background check Must be able to obtain an ATF Employee Possessor Letter of Clearance Must be able to pass a commercial/government agency background and reference check. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Must be able to meet company insurance requirements.


Educational Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred.


Special Skills:
Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Must be able to react quickly and calmly in stressful situations.

Ability to travel to various work locations in the U.S.

Ability to work 1 or more days at a time and work up to 12 hours per day.
