Job Description 1.Inspects facilities for compliance with environmental health and safety regulations; advises users of the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

2.Defines scope of work for potential contracts for building demolition or renovation and other chemically contaminated property including sampling, testing, removal, decontamination, and disposal.

3.Coordinates special waste disposal projects including the handling of toxic gases, infectious materials, asbestos, PCBs, hazardous chemicals and mixed waste, including radioactive materials.

4.Develops and conducts new employee training programs in the areas of hazardous substances.

5.Advises management on potential hazardous materials and makes recommendations as required.

6.Maintains records such as hazardous and non-hazardous waste manifests and associated documents.

7.Responds to hazardous materials spills such as oil, acid, and mercury; implements clean-up plan.

8.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements Must be highly proficient in all aspects of HAZMAT as related to this effort. Must have appropriate experience in conducting inspections and investigations in the enforcement of hazardous materials regulations.
