(AFG-KANDAHAR) Laundry Lead

Job Summary

The* Laundry Lead* ensures that laundry personnel follow correct policies and procedures to accomplish work in a timely, safe, and cost effective manner, and that necessary training, supplies, equipment maintenance, and documentation are maintained for mission success.

Principal Accountabilities

• Oversee assigned laundry operations and personnel to ensure work is accomplished in a timely, safe, and cost effective manner


• Maintain inventory of supplies and order replacement supplies when needed


• Interact with client to discuss and resolve issues they may have; investigate, resolve and report claims as appropriate and when needed


• Help in laundry process, collect and sort laundry, operate washers and dryers, select soaps and cleaning formulas, and mend and distribute articles


• Ensure machines and laundry area adhere to safety and cleanliness standards, stay in working order, and that maintenance is contacted promptly for repairs


• Train personnel and promote continuous improvement


• Keep necessary records and write reports


• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Knowledge and ability to operate laundry equipment and instruct others


• Familiar with laundry policies, procedures, and resources


• Familiar with, and able to use, Microsoft Office software including Excel

Experience & Education

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in laundry services or related field, with at least one(1) year in a supervisory/lead role


• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Prefer OCONUS experience

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Ability to move loads up to one hundred (100) pounds in carts or slings, lift objects up to fifty (50) pounds, and stand for three (3) hours at a time


• Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable


• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions


• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
