(AFG-KANDAHAR) Food Service Sanitation Supervisor


Job Summary

The Food Service Sanitation Supervisor ensures overall cleanliness and sanitation of the Food Service Operation is maintained in a regular and consistent manner so that food service quality standards are met.


Principal Accountabilities


  • Ensure that sanitation issues are communicated throughout the facility

  • Develop, implement, and enforce approved sanitation cleanup procedures

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety guidelines as needed, including chemical safety and awareness

  • Provide and document training as needed, including chemical safety and awareness

  • Maintain adequate cleaning supply inventories of sanitation aids, chemical cleaners, sanitizers, and other sanitation equipment

  • Control and monitor usage of cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies

  • Continually monitor effectiveness and adequacy of all cleaning activities via pre-operational inspections

  • Complete all paperwork as necessary

  • Proactively prevent any microbiological problems that may be due to improper cleaning; troubleshoot any issues that do arise

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills


  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and other personnel

  • Knowledge of food service and sanitation standards

  • Willing to learn and grow in food service abilities

  • Mature in judgment and behavior

  • Ability to consistently arrive punctually and contribute to a positive dining atmosphere

Experience & Education


  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in full service or institutional food service environment

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • ServSafe Certified (40-hour management course)

Physical Requirements/Working Environment


  • Ability to talk and hear well to instruct employees and assist dining facility customers

  • Position requires shift work, days and nights

  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions

  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

Travel


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
