Maintenance Trainer Stf - Lockheed Martin - Fairfax, VA

Teaching standard curriculum * develop monthly training plans for each individual class based on individual student needs * Adhere to and met DLI standards * Develop graduation certificates and conduct graduation ceremonies* Ensure Afghan students have an accurately completed training record , Instructors provide daily attendance, weekly and monthly status reports * Ensure maximum incorporation of aviation English with the development and use of all visual aids necessary *Ensure security, standardization and correct administration of ICAO and EQR testing * Provide classroom instruction in a maintenance setting to ensure team-building and successful completion of class directly benefits both Afghan Officers and NCO’s to perform aviation functions * Attend meeting with the maintenance and operations departments as/if required *Will prepare and deliver briefings as/if required. Will create, modify, and improve upon training methods, standards and POI’s as directed by the CLS-A Training Program Manager * Responsible for inventory of all training materials.

Basic Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED and technical school degree are required. Four (4) years of total experience as a technical writer is required, of which two (2) years shall have been in the preparation of modification work orders and technical manuals (new and/or updates) for military systems.


An equivalent to the high school diploma or GED and technical school degree is authorized. Two years’ experience or OEM training directly related to the Mi Series Aircraft may be substituted for the education requirements. Note that other stated requirements apply.


NACI or Interim NACI required prior to start date


Active passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date.


Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date


Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.


Desired skills

Desired experience with PC-12

Desired experience with Pilatus Aircraft

Experience with FLIR, ISR and UHF/VHF radios

Work experience in austere environments such as Afghanistan


Understanding and accepting local languages, customs and traditions (to be able to work with local customs, transport systems and language interpretation)


Ability to work and live in a team environment


Proficient in Dari a plus, but not required, desire to learn about other languages and cultures


Military deployment experience is highly desired and deployment experience to the CENTCOM region is desired


Maintenance and maintenance training experience preferably in an FMS environment


Should be knowledgeable of Flight Operation Plan and Ground Operating Procedure Operations
